MVOA is an architecture and design practice that researches solutions for contemporary life with a sensitive approach to the place. Its work aims to overcome the abstraction of a speculative approach to deliver projects rooted in place and able to stimulate an emotional response. The practice engages with the social, economic and natural environment of each project to define the unique character of the program - avoiding the over imposition of any predetermined style or form. The activation of the dialogue between this ever changing context and the client input is the starting point for any design strategy. The constant distillation of ideas obtained by testing their environmental reverberation and the refinement of details inform the design. The office uses advanced digital tools to achieve its vision - combining the countless opportunities of the computational design with the traditional craft, model-making, physical testing and mockups.

MVOA is agile and believes that creative work does not necessarily happen at the desk. It’s based in Parma but can rely on collaborative offices in London and Milan.

MVOA was founded in 2016 by Matteo Vecchi.
